What is a cake board?

  • A cake board is a thick piece of material designed to support cakes and even cupcakes to improve your display and simplify shipping. The term "cake board" is commonly used to refer to boards of all sizes, shapes, and materials used for this purpose, but the following terms are used to refer more specifically to groupings of these items.
Cake Board: A cake ring is a round cake board, usually with a thin structure, about 1/8 inch.
Cake Drums: Drums refer to thicker cake boards, 1/4" or 1/2", as they must have a double-wall corrugated construction. These can also be used between the layers of the cake for extra support.
Cake Base Board: Similar to cake rings, cake mats are an economical option for placing rectangular pancakes.
Mini Dessert Boards: These are unique boards with specific functions. Most of them are small so they can hold a cupcake or dessert.

Cake Board Material

Corrugated cardboard: Most of all disposable cake boards are made from corrugated cardboard. This material consists of layers of corrugated paper pressed between two outer layers, the outer layers provide rigidity and the corrugated paper provides insulation and thickness.
Double Ash Board: Particleboard is made from pressed cardboard, so it is lightweight while remaining fairly strong. It has a laminated finish that prevents grease from seeping into the material. The material is only strong enough to support smaller sweet spots.
Masonite: Made from medium density fiberboard (MDF), this material is a reusable cake option. Cover with foil, wrap, or fondant before each use to prevent grease. Because of this inconvenience, these boards are usually only used between cake layers to provide structural support.
What we tested today was a 12mm cake drum, and we prepared 4 2KG dumbbells and 2 and 1.5KG dumbbells. Let's put these on this cake holder and see if this 12mm cake holder can hold the weight!

In the video, we can see that the cake holder has not received any damage at all, that is to say, it can hold at least 11KG (22 catties) of cake, and transport your cake work safely and securely without pressure.
